Dr. Trent W. Smallwood, DDS

In 1997, Dr. Trent W. Smallwood founded The Centre for Contemporary Dental Concepts in Tempe, Arizona.  A graduate of Indiana University with Specialized training in Dental Cosmetics from P.A.C-Live and completed his Fellowship with F.A.C.E (Fellowship Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics), Dr. Smallwood teaches on numerous topics, educating other dentists on contemporary concepts of today’s dentistry.  Dr. Smallwood is an International Speaker and Author of the Best Selling book, Platinum Paradigm which is a book designed to aid dentists; patients and ceramists, in the art of smile design.  Along with consulting and teaching with major dental manufacturers, laboratories and his peers, Dr. Smallwood has been named the Official Cosmetic Dentist to the Prestigious Miss Arizona USA and Arizona United States Pageants.  He has been honored and awarded for excellence in Prosthodontics in addition to being named the Co-Director with the Hornbrook Group.  Dr. Smallwood is an Esthetic Instructor for P.A.C-Live, as well as a Premier Provider and Instructor for Invisalign and Founder of World Institute of Dental Esthetics. Local and National news teams have featured Dr. Smallwood and his innovative approach to educate patients on the modern technologies and philosophies in Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Smallwood always finds time to be active in the community, fly his helicopter and is a proud father of twin daughters. 

Dr. Erica Elannan, DDS

Dr. Erica Elannan, a native of St.Augustine, Florida, at the age of 17 years old, was one of 18 students selected worldwide for the rigorous, 6 year combined BA/DDS dental program at the University of Missouri- Kansas City.. Dr. Elannan completed a typical 4 year BA degree in only 2 years, subsequently entering in with the University’s 80 conventional 4-year DDS students to obtain her Doctorate of Dental Surgery, all in a mere 6 years rather than the typical 8-year dental curriculum. Dr. Elannan developed her aesthetic skills and artistic vision through, completing a Cosmetic Internship located in Phoenix, Arizona, conducted by Dr. Smallwood, an instructor at the time for one of the top cosmetic institutions. Out of the original 18 students,  Dr. Elannan was one of only 11 students to actually complete the program, graduating the program in 2003 with honors in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Elannan graduated the dental program at the age of 23 years old making her one of the youngest dentists practicing in the country. Post graduation holding board certifications in multiple states, she began her career opening a Cosmetic Surgery Center in St.Augustine Florida.
Dr. Elannan remains an avid proponent of community service and involvement for the betterment of the greater good. Through various publications, ranging from local to international, and educational seminars, she focuses on identifying the possibilities as well as offering choices to the public in quality dental care.
A perfectionist by nature, she strives to create natural smiles of distinct, unparalleled beauty, ultimately changing lives and awakening inner self-confidence one smile at a time. Through her research, she has originated a product line and book series, which provides the solution to the widespread Caries Epidemic.  Her fervency has thus brought her to unite once again with her most respected colleague and former instructor Dr. Smallwood, to share in the passion of private practice and strive together in their love of creating smiles as healthy as they are beautiful.  This Synergy has created one of the most dynamic and experienced Smile design centers in the Country.
